Mark’s Choice Stainless Steel Tools |
"I'm proud of these hard working yet elegant stainless steel garden tools. I have 'road tested' them in my garden and concluded that they are as close to indestructible as they come! The steel holds an edge, for reduced effort while digging or hoeing. Soil falls off of the blade - less sticking! The hardwood 'D' handle fits your hand and the 'feel' improves with use (the sign of a great hand tool!). Solid, balanced weight: a tool that grows in value with use! One more thing... the 'look' of the new Mark's Choice stainless steel tools are presentation quality. Just don't let the receiver think that they are too good to use!"

Mark’s Choice / Spear & Jackson Tools |
"The earth will move! When I was first introduced to the concept of the new Mark's Choice digging tools I could hardly believe that anyone could improve on the time-honoured design of a traditional spade, fork or leaf rake. But we have!
Firstly, the centre of gravity has changed! You place your foot on the centre of the digging tool, not to the side. The result? An easier dig that uses the weight of your body to full advantage.
Second, they are lightweight! Here you have a lightweight set of tools that are as tough and rugged as any stainless steel tools on the market.
Third, ergonomic design. The handle is intended to fit your hand and angled in just such a way as to provide maximum leverage with minimum effort.
Check out the soft-grip handles. Lift one of the new Mark's Choice digging tools of leaf rake for yourself and you will feel the difference instantly.
These tools have been thoroughly field tested and are made by one of the greatest names in modern gardening history... none other than Spear and Jackson!
A field test in your own yard will prove that they quite possible are the best made tools of their kind - ever. "

Mark’s Choice Folding BypassLopper |
"Prune with less effort.
Who would have thought that you could carry a pair of lightweight, heavy duty loppers in the back pocket of your jeans? Not I. Until I discovered these wonderful bypass loppers that will cut through 1 1/2 inches of green wood like a hot knife through butter. The gearing at the hinge is the secret to the ease with which you cna remove reasonably mature wood in your shrubs, trees and evergreens - without a lot of effort!
To suggest that this the perfect tool for women who enjoy gardening but shy away from the 'heavy' pruning jobs may not sound entirely appropriate, so just let me say that my wife Mary tried these and now she is trimming down the flowering shrubs in our garden like a pro... And I am out of a job!
The big bonus is that this quality tool folds down to fit nicely into your car trunk, behind the seet of the pick-up or even the seat pocket of your jeans."

Mark’s
Choice Bow Saw |
"When my wife Mary and I moved into our current home 18 years ago, I had no idea how often I would be reaching for the green-wood buck saw in the tool shed. You see, our home was build on a lot that was carved out of a hard wood forest. Now I can tell you that a great buck saw feels good and confident in your hand. It is balanced to reduce fatigue [especially in your fore arms!] . And it melts green wood without binding, twisting and cuts effectively on both the back stroke and fore stroke. This is the saw that I have been looking for!! And it is Canadian made."

Mark’s Choice Telescoping Tree Pruner |
"Inspired by the ancient 'block and tackle' principle, this Mark's Choice pole pruner features a 4 pully system that increases cutting power by 30% and reduces the effort needed by you - on the ground - sustantially! The quality polypropylene rope will not rot or fray with years of use and the 14 inch saw blade is made of hardened steel. The saw blade cuts on both the push and pull stroke.
The fiberglass/aluminum pole is both strong and light. Much easier to use than wooden handled pole pruners! This is a great multi-tasking tool that you will want to have in your tool shed or garage. I have used it extensively."

Mark’s Choice Hedge Shears |
"Here is a great way to enjoy a typical garden chore. Whether you are trimming a hedge, the edge of your lawn or shaping an evergreen I believe that you will truly love using this quality tool. It keeps an edge for a long time, has extendable handles that hold sure and firm under pressure (ie. don't wiggle!) and they are light, so 'fore-arm fatigue' is reduced significantly. And they are made in Canada."

Mark’s Choice Loppers |
"For 18 years my wife Mary and I have lived in a forest - the lot for our house was carved out of a hardwood forest. I have enjoyed the shroud of coolness provided by trees and the constant changes in each tree as seasons progress. I have also spent a lot of time trimming tree limbs in an effort to keep my living space in the yard open for our use. I have learned that a good pair of tree loppers must feel good and confident in your hands. They must hold an edge - and be made of the very best steel. The ratcheting mechanism should stand the pressures of cutting through substantial limbs without jamming or twisting. And finally, extendable handles provide access to branches that otherwise may be out of reach. I found these loppers and field tested them. In fact, I gave them to professional friends of mine in the tree trimming business and as one of them [Rudy] said, "These are the best tree loppers I have ever used. I think you should be proud to put your name on them." I am and I did - thanks Rudy! And that is why I guarantee these loppers."

Mark’s Choice Weeder/Aerator |
"I always enjoyed pulling weeds in my lawn - to a point. Now I enjoy the job much more. This Scandanavian designed weed extractor not only saves back ache and green stains on my knees, it pulls dandelions - and other common Canadian weeds - better than I can with a traditional weed puller. Truth is, this weeder removes more of the root and aerates the soil in my lawn at the same time.
The secret to making my new weeder work for you is in the 'twist'. Push the three prongs into the ground from a standing position - making sure to place the weeder directly over the centre of the dandelion (or plantain or young thistle...) then twist 180 degrees. Now, pull the weeder out and push the plunger to remove the weed - root and all - from the end of the tool. I leave the extracted weed on the lawn and mulch it when I run over it with my lawn mower.
It's easy, effective and an environmental alternative to chemical weed killers. And it's fun to use. Really."

Mark’s Choice 8" Gardener's File |
‘ A Sharp Tool brings Joy to the Gardening Experience!’
When I was a kid my Dad, the late gardener Len Cullen, showed me how to sharpen a hoe. He emphasized the need to get an edge on the tool so that cutting down weeds was a cinch. He didn’t stop there, he explained how a sharp shovel and spade that had been honed like a knife made any digging job pure joy.
That joy is now yours, thanks to this handiest of garden tools, the Mark’s Choice sharpening file.
Use it every time that you go out to dig or hoe. Once you have established the first edge it only takes seconds to maintain it.
This not-very-fancy garden essential is only as handy as it is accessible: that is why I have one in my garage, my tool shed and in the barn.

Mark’s Choice 8" Folding Saw
|
| “Know when to hold them, and When to fold them!”
Have you ever gone looking for a saw to cut a limb from a maturing shrub or tree in the yard and used the cross-cut or rip saw from your work room? If you have, you know that there has to be something better, right? Here it is; handy [put it in your pocket!], safe [the blade locks when open] and effective [you will have to try it….!]. The new Mark’s Choice Folding Pruning saw has a soft, ergonomic grip that fits your hand, is light weight and is constructed with a Swedish green-wood blade that is specifically made for living wood.
It is build to last and is made right here Canada [except the blade, of course]. Use it once and you will never go back! Mind you, it will never substitute for the cross-cut or rip saw in your workshop either.

Mark’s Choice Extend - A -Saw |
"I have been looking for a pruning saw that holds an edge, cuts on the back AND fore stroke, is safe to use (will lock closed when I close it!) and is light weight. And now I've found it! I put this pruning saw to the test before I put my name on it. I am delighted to recommend it for light pruning around the yard. It lets you quickly remove branches up to 1 1/2" in diameter (note: if you need to remove bigger branches, use the Mark's Choice bow saw or power ratchet lopper). The cushion grip makes it a pleasure to use this saw for extended periods. The saw slides easily into the back pocket of your jeans and is safe to use. The locking mechanisms on this folding saw are terrific!"
